This mix is ILL. Cut Chemist has always been a personal favorite of mine. Everything he does behind the decks is amazing. Here’s a sick disco mix (I know, right?). He can’t help it… he makes everything cool.
After all of these years, I still love these guys. I still remember finding Brad’s first CD, “Shame,” in Shane Curry’s car and listening to it for about three straight months. Seriously. The first time you hear that hidden track, it will scare the crap out of you…
1993.
Wow, I am getting up here. That explains all this gray hair.
I’m guessing that Jay-Z will NOT be in the building, but I am still seriously excited about the next two nights at Deer Creek (no, not “Verizon Wireless… whatever”). Heat be damned, I’m ready to dance my ass off!
If you haven’t seen Phish live, drop what you are doing and go get a ticket. NOW. You may not know their music (although I’d be surprised if you haven’t at least heard “Down With Disease” or “Bouncing Around The Room”), but they are an amazingly talented live act, and they always throw in a few cover songs to keep you on your toes. Favorites include Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, and The Talking Heads, and this year they’ve played Rage Against The Machine, Bob Dylan and Francis Scott Key (OK, it was the Fourth of July) as well.
All in all, a good time can always be found at a Phish show. I’ll be there with 20+ thousand of my closest phriends… hopefully you are one of them!
Tonight, at the Casba (6319 N. Guilford Avenue in Broad Ripple), Mike B. vs. OhBeOne are back for more four-turntable shenanigans from 10pm until 1am. As always, 2 DJs, 4 turntables and no cover!
I’m feeling this song. Delorean’s new album, “Subiza,” comes out on June 8th. They are a kind of cross-hybrid of house music and a jam band. I like both of those things. So there you go.
