I never get tired of this song. So many good memories of my youth revolve around listening to this album. My friend Shane and I drove around the day after a party with this CD. Neither one of us bought it, at the time… we just found it in the CD player and let it ride. The CD had cool pictures on it, but no band name, or album title or anything else. It took us a few days to figure out what the heck it was, but when we did, we encouraged everyone else we knew to buy it. It was the summer of Brad. I went on to buy everything else the ever put out, and they never disappointed. Good stuff.

And now, an important announcement from Arcade Fire…

Crowded House makes me feel old, again…
Crowded House has released their second new album in 17 years, entitled “Intriguer.” Produced by Jim Scott (Wilco), it sounds like the Crowded House music of my youth. I was young once, I swear.
Go to their website and get the entire album for a very reasonable price.
This music is… weird…
I can’t stop listening to this band, The Chap.
They’re so… strange.
I really can’t describe their music, so I will include a link to their MySpace page here. Go ahead and head over and listen, and then come back so we can discuss.
…
I know, right? At first, I was like, “This is awful.” But I couldn’t stop listening. “We Work In Bars” first. Then “Proper Rock” and “Well Done You.” Then “They Have A Name” about a half a dozen times.
Then I scrolled down and found “I Am Oozing Emotion.” Holy crap.

Then I found “Remember Elvis Rex.” Groovy.

I don’t know if I like this band or if there are subliminal messages in the music that have made me addicted to it…
Cheer up, buy music!
Here is what came out that I will listen to first, as if you cared:
DJ Rap – “Synthesis”
The Herbaliser – Herbal Tonic
The Jackson 5 – “Live at the Forum”
Scissor Sisters – “Night Work”
Pianos Become the Teeth – “Old Pride”
Also, today marks the 25th anniversary of John Fogerty’s “Centerfield.” I still love this song:
