NEW VIDEO – “Sure Shot” – Sesame Street covers The Beastie Boys

I think every other thing I post is Beastie Boys related… not that that is such a bad thing, it just might not entertain everyone else as much as it entertains me.

Aw, what do I care? It entertains me. And, in this case, it entertains my buddy Solomon too. Here’s one for the kids:

Did this ever need to happen?

The answer, of course, is no.

Am I glad this is happening? Of course! I wasted many an afternoon or late night watching Beavis and Butthead. I learned about White Zombie thanks to them, and I will still watch the movie whenever it pops up on TV.

Besides, watching Beavis and Butthead skewer “Jersey Shore” is just as awesome as it sounds (see clip below).

It shouldn’t be too hard to live up to the standard set by the mid-90s episodes of the show… as the bar wasn’t very high to begin with. The boys pick up right where they left off…

With that said, please enjoy some first looks at the reboot of Beavis and Butthead.

THE MOST EPIC THING OF THINGS THAT ARE EPIC!

Why is it that pretty much everything that The Beasties Boys have ever done… EVER… is so friggin’ amazing? I’m finding it hard to even remember a music video by anyone in else in the recent past, while at the same time I am easily remembering pretty much every music video the The B-Boys have ever released.

Likewise, I am having a hard time finding the track(s) on their most recent album that are the “filler” tracks. Funky Donkey comes close, but still… that’s only one song. Interludes and sketches don’t count as tracks (although they are, admittedly, filler). No, I’m talking about full songs that are horrible and have obviously been thrown onto the album to up the track count. At a time when the music industry has turned into a purveyor of single-use, disposable music of all genres (where entire albums of crap are built around one marketable single), The Beastie Boys remain one of the few artists (especially in hip-hop) that continue to focus on crafting excellent songs without regard to what will sell. And then, they sell a ton of albums.

The Beastie Boys are better than almost all of the music you are listening to right now. Period.

The only way this song was going to ever be good…

I’m sure everyone and their cousin has seen this, but I couldn’t resist. Frequent visitors to this little vanity project are aware of my affinity for They Might Be Giants. “Birdhouse In Your Soul” is one of my all-time favorite songs, and I frequently play their music to my 3 year old son.

Likewise, anyone who knows me would also then know that I would never force anyone to enjoy anything that involves the “talents” of the “band” Chumbawumba…

With that said, please enjoy this:
