Although not their most successful album, this is by far one of my favorite Pink Floyd albums. Only after making this album would they be capable of the success of their next album, “The Wall.”
Holy crap, what a powerful album. As a little white kid in a suburb, this album sounded like it was from another planet. And for me, it was. But I soon learned about what power I should be fighting from one of hip-hop’s greatest voices, Chuck D. If you want to teach all the hipsters and Gucci Mane fans whats up, drop “Countdown to Armageddon” and let it ride all the way through “Party for Your Right to Fight.” Word.
The first time I heard this album, I immediately knew that a lot of “popular” rock bands were doing it wrong. Kurt Cobain probably listened to this album. A lot.
