I remember the first time I heard “Burn, Berlin, Burn.” I was confused and enthralled at the same time. So loud. So distortedly loud. Big bass hits meet punk meets screaming meets… a Nirvana sample? I didn’t know what to make of Atari Teenage Riot, and that’s what I liked about them. After seeing them perform live (alongside Beck and The Roots- how’s that for a show?!?), I knew I had stumbled onto something good.
Unfortunately, after 3 albums, they crashed and burned. MC Carl Crack passed in 2001 (man, has it been that long?) and the group disbanded. Until now…
